I said in my early twenties I didn't want to be tied down to one specific career because I wanted to experience a lot of different things. That wasn't too hard to achieve. When I lived in Nashville I worked for the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, the Father of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe and his son, James, a federal judge, a record label, The Nashville Jubilee, a record store (Music Mart USA), a sightseeing tour company (Gray Line Tours), a souvenir and western wear store (Country Corner USA), a theatre-restaurant (The Four Guys Harmony House), a book publisher (Aurora Publishers), Opryland USA, and as a casting director/script supervisor (Media Productions, Inc.). That list looks like I couldn't keep a job but, in reality, I often worked more than one job at a time.
